To begin with, RADA is an abbreviated name of the College that stands for Research and Academic Development for Africa. This name reflects that RADA College aspires to access education and training as well as research outputs not only in Ethiopia but also in Africa. RADA College is dedicated to the advancement of academic excellence by offering relevant, accessible, affordable and quality education so as to bring scholarly impact on the destiny of its students and trainees in Ethiopia and beyond.

RADA College was established in 2014 as a privately owned institution of Higher Education in Ethiopia by two devoted academicians to address the educational needs of people within the country and in different parts of Africa at large. The founders of the College are two Ethiopian academicians who are well trained in relevant fields of studies with wide ranges of experience and managerial skills.

The vision of RADA College is to be one of the top ten colleges acknowledged for their quality education and research output in Africa by 2030. The mission of RADA College is to produce competent graduates, deliver applicable and economical problem solving research outputs, and provide need based community services on time and accessible place through training, consultancy, research & education, by creating access to education for the needy people through breaking location barriers to foster the social and economic development of the community in and beyond the country.

Pursuant to its vision and mission, RADA College takes particular pride in the broad range of its programs and in the interactive approach to the teaching-learning process. RADA College has been offering education and training at different levels in various nationally licensed fields of studies. These include:

 

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in regular mode of delivery accredited by different regional Technical and Vocational Education and Training Agencies:

 

The College offers the TVET programs in the following area of studies such as Crop Production; Natural Resources Conservation; Clinical Nursing; Pharmacy; Cooperative Accounting and Auditing; Data Base Administration; Hardware and Networking Services; Marketing and Sales Management; Accounting & Finance; Purchasing Supply chain Management; Secretarial Science and Office Management; and Human Resource Management at its Branch Campuses located in different parts of the country.

 

Undergraduate programs in regular and distance modes of deliveries licensed by Federal Education and Training Authority:

 

In the regular undergraduate program RADA College is offering Management, Accounting and Finance, Clinical Nursing in Health Science areas and Information Technology at its various campuses such as Debre Berhan, Kombolcha and Gondar campuses in Amhara Region as well as at Nedjo cmpus in Oromia Regional State.

RADA College is also offering five undergraduate programs through distance education division which include Management, Accounting and finance, Marketing Management, Economics, and Rural Development & Agricultural Extension. The undergraduate programs in distance mode cover the Amhara, Afar, Oromiya, Benishangul and Gumuz regional national states of the country.

With the aim of creating an opportunity for those who otherwise would not have access to higher education in the regular mode, RADA College has expanded its undergraduate programs in distance mode of delivery at different distance education coordinating branch centers almost in all regional states of the country which are on the average at the radius of about 520 kilometers far away from the capital city (Addis Ababa).

 

 

Postgraduate programs in regular and extension modalities licensed by Federal Education and Training Authority:

 

RADA College has been offering graduate programs in three fields of studies namely in Master of Business Administration (MBA); Master of Accounting and Finance (MSc) and Master of Development Economics (MA). These programs are offered in regular and extension mode of deliveries at Debre Berhan, Kombolcha and Dessie Campuses of the College in Amhara regional national state.

In addition to the above mentioned educational levels, RADA College also conducts:

·         Distance education academy at primary and secondary school level accredited by different regional Education Bureaus.

The distance education academy entertains students of grades 7 to 12 in the distance mode in Amhara and Oromia  regional states of Ethiopia.

·         Drivers’ Training Institutes accredited by different Regional road and Transport Authorities.

 

RADA College has also created collaboration at National, Regional and International levels that would help the College to develop institutional capacity, system and environment supporting and promoting culture of research and scholarship among staff and students of the College. To this end RADA College has extended its services to address research, consultancy and training needs in collaboration with other public and private organizations and institutions at the local, national, regional and international levels.  Accordingly, RADA College has already established collaboration and partnership by signing Memorandum of Understanding with well-known local similar institutions such as:-

Ø Ethiopian Management Institute;

Ø Ethiopian Economics Professionals Association;

Ø Ethiopian Knowledge and Technology Diffusion Authority, and

Ø Cheshire Ethiopia

that are some among many others.

 

The College has also created partnership by signing Memorundum of Understanding with:- 

Ø Eelo University of Somali Land in East Africa;

Ø Center for Democracy and Governance of Somaliland in East Africa;

Ø Uganda Management Institute;

Ø Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration;

Ø Research Academia, V.V.Vanniaperumal College for Women, Virudhunagar, Tamilnadu, India; and

Ø Monark University of India.
